SCHOOLHOUSE ELECTRIC

Brought on for an adaptive reuse of the Detective Building, Nico served as the architectural salvage consultant for Schoolhouse Electric's Pittsburgh location..  

 

Desks, finish elements, lights, and many other objects of interest were salvaged, selected, cleaned, and disassembled for storage from this previously abandoned building.  Included in the design were the signature green chairs salvaged from the old Pittsburgh Printers Union.

 

After much creative visioning, the selected and creatively modified pieces where brought back to their former home that underwent its own transformation.  Nico helped consult to exposed the raw ceiling and floor to reveal fantastic architectural details.
