LOFT

LUDWIGSBURG, DE

IMG_2374.JPG

After sitting empty for many years, an addition built in the 1960s, intended to be used as an office, was in desperate need of attention and care.

Removing remnants of past tenants, revealed and celebrated the architectural details of the building.  A kies steine poured concrete floor was revealed underneath 3 layers of different flooring (carpet, vinyl, and plywood to be exact).  Volcanic-ash glazed terracotta tiles were found under a plastic "wood optic" flooring material.  A pond was discovered under a green asphalt roof.  To name a few of the discoveries we made by peeling back years of poorly made materials.

We worked primarily with salvaged and second-hand materials for this space.
